2017-18 School Calendar For Hastings-On-Hudson
The new school year starts soon. Here are dates you and your children need to know.
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — There are a few more beach days, but the reality is, the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2017-18 school year in the Hastings-on-Hudson Union Free School District.
- Superintendent's Conference Day (no students): Sept. 1
- Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 4
- First day of school: Sept. 5
- Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
- Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 9
- Half-day for students: Nov. 2, 9
- Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
- Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 23-24 (early dismissal Nov. 22)
- Holiday recess, early dismissal: Dec. 22
- Holiday recess: Dec. 25-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 2)
- Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
- Winter recess (school closed): Feb. 19-23
- Good Friday (school closed): March 30
- Spring recess (school closed): April 2-6
- Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 28
- Half-day for students; PM: June 20-21
- Last day of school: June 21
