3 Arrested On Drug-Related Charges On Thruway
After a traffic stop, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established.

ARDSLEY, NY — Three people were arrested on drug-related charges after being stopped on I-87 Wednesday in the Village of Ardsley. State police pulled over driver Ralph C. Moody, 48, of Ancram, around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday for vehicle and traffic violations.
While interviewing him, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established.
Police said they found approximately 13 grams of cocaine, 11.6 grams of heroin and 8 grams of marijuana were found.

In addition, several items of drug paraphernalia, which included a spoon, glass smoking pipe and several hypodermic needles, along with multiple wax envelopes, were found, police said.
Moody and passengers Krista A. Chadwell, 31, of Pittsfield, MA, and Jerome Grandson, 30, also of Pittsfield, MA, were taken into custody.

They were charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (with intent to sell) Grandson, 2 counts/Chadwell, 1 count
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (Controlled substance narcotic drug) Chadwell only
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree; a Class C Felony (Grandson only, 2 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor (Moody, Grandson, Chadwell)
- Possession of Hypodermic Instrument; a Class A Misdemeanor (Moody, Grandson, Chadwell)
- Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a Violation (Moody, Chadwell)
- Vehicle and Traffic Violations (Moody only)
All three individuals were arraigned in the Village of Ardsley Court.
Moody was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500 bail or $1,000 bond; Chadwell, in lieu of $10,000 bail or $15,000 bond; and Grandson, in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
A return date for the trio was set for July 2 in the Village of Ardsley Court.
