The Mercy College women's lacrosse team picked up its third straight victory with a 14-11 win over East Coast Conference foe Lake Erie College this morning (April 21).

Junior Julie Darnulc (4 goals, 1 assist) and sophomore Kristen Znaniecki (two goals, three assists) led the Mavericks with five points apiece, and junior Marissa Hurley tied for the team lead with four goals.

It was also Senior Day, with Dana Harjus being the lone honoree.

Mavericks' Baseball

The Mercy College baseball team dropped an East Coast Conference doubleheader to Queens College this afternoon (April 21), falling by scores of 5-0 and 4-3.

Freshman Vinny Orlando led the offense in both games out of the leadoff spot, going 3-5 with a pair of walks. Please follow the link here for further details.

Baseball

Greg Pezzuto (Hastings '10) of Southern New Hampshire, batted 1-5, scored a run and fanned once in a losing game with Franklin Pierce on the 17th, 10-9.

Cortland swept their double header at home with Oswego on the 17th handily, 13-5 and 13-2. In the opener, designated hitter Andrew Pezzuto (Hastings '07) was 2-3 , scored a run, and had 1 r.b.i. , while in the 2nd game, he was 1-2, scored twice, and had 2 putouts and 1 assist in left field. 

Hosting Adelphi on the 17th, Pace won, 15-2, with Chris Roemer (Ardsley '07) batting 1-3, scoring 1 run, plus having 2 r.b.i.'s and walking and fanning once each.

Kiyota Gomi (Ardsley '08) and Carleton took two from Crown on the 17th, as he batted 1-3, scored a run, fanned once and had 8 putouts at 1st base in the 5-0 win. He pitched 1 inning of relief in the nightcap 7-4 win.
