DOBBS FERRY, NY — Dobbs Ferry police arrested a man after an early morning burglary at Hudson Social Restaurant.
Police responded to the restaurant on Friday, around 4:25 a.m.
When officers arrived, they confirmed a burglary had taken place and that items were missing from inside the restaurant. Police said this included an unknown amount of cash.
While officers were still at the scene, a civilian called the Dobbs Ferry Police Department to report that they believed they were driving behind the suspect vehicle. Officers were then dispatched to the caller's location while the caller stayed on the phone with police and continued to give location updates.
A Dobbs Ferry police officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle within the Village of Ardsley. After a brief investigation, police determined that the driver of the vehicle was the suspect in the burglary and placed him under arrest.
The man was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree grand larceny, and possession of burglar's tools.
