Experience The Armour-Stiner Octagon House for the first time, or return for another visit! The one-hour Classic Tour gives a foundational understanding of this iconic house and features something for everyone. Shaped by the vision and determination of the individuals who have owned this lyrical house through the years, its magnificent ornamentation and period furnishings make it one of the most unique examples of the uninhibited individualism of 19th century architecture. 
<h2>What's included</h2>
Visitors will learn about the history of this National Historic Landmark, the motives behind its unique shape, and most recently its restoration from near-ruin, as they tour the veranda and three primary floors. 
At the conclusion of the tour, visitors are invited to experience Remember You Must Die, a curated exhibition from the Memento Mori collection of Ryan Matthew Cohn featuring objects ranging from ancient artifacts to contemporary works and examining the ways past generations confronted mortality through art, ritual, memory, and spirituality. 
This special seasonal tour is the perfect addition to your autumn adventures in the Hudson Valley.

The Armour-Stiner Octagon House has long been the subject of local lore, its rooms holding stories that go well beyond the ordinary house tour. From September 25 through November 2, 2026, Myths &amp; Mysteries invites visitors into the enigmatic tales and personal accounts of the house's past residents, uncovering the secrets held within its walls. Expect narratives where the living and the ethereal sit close together, and come away with a deeper appreciation for just how strange and storied this house really is.

You are invited to step into the past and join the enigmatic Jessie Clarke as she hosts her annual literary salon. Jessie Clarke lived at the Octagon House over a century ago, until her death in 1933 — one of the house's most curious figures, and much of her life remains shrouded in mystery. Set aside for her by wealthy relatives, the house was her home for 25 years, where legend holds she lived largely alone. Her story carries added layers of intrigue: the nature of her health in those years remains undocumented and much debated.
Join us for October chills on this tour, which combines history with a touch of the unknown. This dramatic, immersive experience concludes with a riveting reading of "The Raven," performed by Edgar Allan Poe himself.
At the conclusion of the tour, visitors are invited to experience Remember You Must Die, a curated exhibition from the Memento Mori collection of Ryan Matthew Cohn featuring objects ranging from ancient artifacts to contemporary works and examining the ways past generations confronted mortality through art, ritual, memory, and spirituality.

Demystifying Medicare&nbsp;is perfect for anyone trying to navigate our complicated healthcare system for older adults. The workshop is for people who already have Medicare, as well as those soon to be 65, planning their retirement, or assisting relatives and friends with their medical decisions.
Demystifying Medicare is offered as part of the ongoing work of the Westchester Library System to provide authoritative, actionable information that supports seniors in being connected and well-informed. In this free, engaging session you will learn about the various parts of Medicare and the costs associated with medical and drug insurance provided by the government and private companies.
Topics include original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, prescription drug plans (Part D), Medigaps (supplemental plans), and cost-saving programs like EPIC that can help seniors with limited resources.
Come and get a handle on this thorny subject in a user-friendly atmosphere. Plan on at least 3 hours to include some lighthearted interactivity and questions; pre-registration requested at&nbsp;(914) 739–5654.
