Updated: Ardsley Fire Department Investigates Smoke at Rite Aid

The source of the fire is still unknown.

Just hours after facing the wrath of Irene, Adsley firefighters were called to Rite Aid pharmacy on 9A to investigate smoke in the building.

"After an investigation, we found it was an electrical fire in the trash compactor," said Chief Vinny Coulehan. Rite Aid sustained little damage.

Residents gathered around the store—which just re-opened after closing for a year due to a devastating fire.
