Ardsley HS Pioneer Panthers Basketball team honored by Greenburgh Town Board
The Pioneers is a sports program created by the Special Olympics
At the last meeting of the Greenburgh Town Board the town honored some exceptional Basketball champions from Ardsley High School –the Ardsley Pioneer Panther team.
For those who may not be familiar, the Pioneer League was established by the New York Special Olympics and provides student-athletes the chance to compete in various sports—soccer, handball, and basketball—against other local districts throughout the year.
I have been attending their homecoming game in recent years. This years champions who were honored by the Town Board are:

What makes these athletes so special is that they play because they love the game, not for trophies, not for scholarships and not for fame. They appreciate every moment of success.
