Bicycle path proposed on 119 to Mario Cuomo bridge

cyclists will be able to bike from the Bronx or Putnam to Rockland without having to worry about vehicles

The town has filed an application for a major grant that could result in a bicycle path/pedestrian path from the South County Trail and North County Trail to the Mario Cuomo bridge. The path would be on Route 119. If the grant is approved a path would be designed -a major step that will eventually enable cyclists and pedestrians to go from the Bronx or Putnam County to Rockland without having to travel on roads. A link to the town website (with a map of the path) can be found on the link below. Very exciting! A big boost to tourism and economic development.
