Update: Police Confirm Identity of Body Washed Ashore in Dobbs Ferry
Police confirm that the body discovered in Dobbs Ferry is that of Elizabeth Lynch-Gonzalez.
The body of 19-year-old Elizabeth Lynch-Gonzalez, a resident of Shrub Oak who jumped from the Tappan Zee bridge this morning, washed ashore on the banks of the Hudson River in Dobbs Ferry's Waterfront Park this afternoon.
A call to police was made from the Half Moon restaurant, which abuts Waterfront Park, just after 11 a.m. when the body was discovered by a passerby. Dobbs Ferry Police were on the scene within minutes, Dympna Broderick, events coordinator for Half Moon, said.
Both New York State Police and representatives from the Westchester County Medical Examiner's office arrived before noon, extricating the body from the water and preparing it for an official autopsy to be performed at their office in Valhalla.
