Bacon Nation Published in May 2013

Bacon Nation, a cookbook of more than 125 bacon recipes, from appetizers to desserts, with color photos and illustrations, to be released in early May, 2013.

Who doesn't love bacon? 

Marie Rama, co-author of Cooking for Dummies and resident of Yonkers, New York, decided two years ago to tap into the American obsession for bacon by writing a "everything is better with bacon" cookbook. Bacon Nation, with more than 125 recipes, from appetizers to desserts, will be released in early May, 2013. 

"Bacon is a very powerful seasoning ingredient," says Rama. "It combines in one little strip the flavors of salt, fat, sugar, umami, and meat. Many chefs say that bacon is one of their secret, go-to-ingredients when they are trying to perk up a stew, a sauce, a dressing or a soup. We used this principle in creating our recipes and it works."

Rama says her publisher, Workman Publishing, is very happy with advance orders and the interest the media has shown in the book even before it's officially published.
