Mercy College School of Business To Offer New 3-Year Undergraduate Degree and 1-Year MBA; Applications Being Accepted for Fall 2013

Mercy's revamped School of Business now offers a 1-year MBA degree, which is attracting students from Georgetown, Brown and University of Michigan, and a 3-year undergraduate honors degree.

Mercy College continues to expand its program offerings with two new degree programs in the School of Business: a three-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.) and one-year Master of Business Administration (MBA).  Applications are being accepted for both degrees for fall 2013.

The programs aim to provide students with access to business executives through the Executive Faculty network, networking opportunities in Manhattan and real-world experiences through internships and projects.

“The new business degree programs give students the opportunity to accelerate studies and experience all of the advantages of Mercy College’s School of Business,” said Dean Ed Weis, Ph.D., of Mercy College’s School of Business.  “Students will learn from faculty who are leaders in the business world, benefit from our executive network, gain challenging real-world experience through work in our institutes and be prepared for a  successful future.”

Three-Year Undergraduate Degree

With the Three-Year Degree, Mercy College has developed an undergraduate
curriculum that condenses a full 120-credit Bachelor of Science business
degree, which typically requires four years to complete, into a fast track
three-year program.

The degree is offered as part of Mercy College’s nationally-recognized and award-wining Honors program.  Mercy College Honors classes average less than 20 students in a collaborative environment that focuses on personal attention.

Applicants should have a high school grade point average of 3.2 or above in a challenging, college-preparatory curriculum and demonstrated leadership and service.  Submission of SAT and ACT scores is optional for admission.

Accelerated MBA

The One-Year MBA offers an accelerated and reinvigorated graduate degree presented in a new format for today’s busy students and working professionals. The GMAT-optional program accepts business and non-business majors.  For non-business majors, the program offers a one-of-a-kind, one-month, quick-start immersion program that will fulfill all prerequisites.

Offered over four quarters—fall, winter, spring and summer—students
will combine the knowledge and skills they gained through their undergraduate
major with business fundamentals in a way that creates a unique personal brand.

Open to Mercy College and non-Mercy College graduates, competitive scholarships will be awarded to exceptional students.

“Mercy College’s MBA offers a fast-track business program and career onnections,” said Executive Dean Ray Manganelli, Ph.D., director, MBA Program and Strategic Consulting Institute at Mercy College.  “Our faculty is comprised of executives from top global companies and includes managing directors from Merrill Lynch, CEOs from Swiss Re Consulting and directors at Goldman Sachs.  We will introduce you to more people in one year than you will meet in ten years otherwise—an additional return on your educational investment.”

Mercy College is the most cost-effective major Manhattan college or university to offer the MBA degree, and the only major Manhattan college or university to offer a one-year program.  Classes are offered on weeknights and weekends.

The One-Year MBA can be combined with the Three-Year Degree.
