NEW ASHFORD AVE BRIDGE SHOULD PROVIDE DIRECT LINK TO SOUTH COUNTY BIKE TRAIL

When the Ashford Ave bridge is replaced with a new and safer bridge, it's
my hope that county officials  will also provide cyclists and pedestrians with a
direct link from the bridge  to the South County bike trail.
  There is currently no direct access from downtown Ardsley to the bike
trail. The closest access areas to the bike paths are off of very busy roads -
not great roads for inexperienced cyclists to bicycle on.  It would be safer and
more convenient for pedestrians and cyclists who enjoy the bike trail to be able
to access the path from the new Ashford Ave bridge. The new bridge construction
project provides county officials with a great opportunity to enhance the
quality of life for area cyclists and pedestrians. And, to make bicycling
safer!
