Every time I take a walk in the Rivertowns I am struck by the beauty and historical resonance of the landscape. Sometimes it's the natural world of treebark, river, lichens, rock. Sometimes it's the old and even ancient architecture. And sometimes I just feel the storybook atmosphere, in which anything can happen.
Washington Irving had it right.
