Volunteer to be a 'Leaf Angel'

Last few days have been gorgeous.  Cool, sunny, leaves changing color.  If you have thornless honeylocusts or birch trees you are lucky; the wind just blows that foliage away from your lawn.  But maples, oaks, etc.  They can call for some fun raking and bagging (or if you are of a mind to....mulching)

But you may have a neighbor who is elderly or disabled or otherwise unable to take care of their leaves this season.  And now that our villages don't let us just rake piles over to the curb, life can be hard for those neighbors--particularly if they don't have the ability to pay someone to do it for them.

Paul Feiner has come up with a program called "Leaf Angels".  Here's what he writes:

"Greenburgh is joining the river villages and some other communities around the county -requiring all leaves to be bagged or mulched. Some senior citizens and disabled residents can't afford to pay landscapers. I would like to set up a new program: LEAF ANGELS. If you are interested in helping seniors on fixed incomes or disabled residents on fixed incomes with their leaf mulching or bagging -please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com."
