Westchester Dining: Chutney Masala is Back in Business; Wine-Coupled Meal Planned for Sunday

Chutney Masala Indian Bistro in Irvington will reopen on Friday Dec. 14, and on Sunday, Dec. 16, will host a wine-paired, afternoon meal to support Tay-bandz, Chef/Owner Navjot Arora said. The bi-level restaurant has been closed since Hurricane Sandy flooded its ground floor on Oct. 29, 2012.

This event was originally scheduled to be held at Chutney Masala on Nov. 4.

Arora calls the benefit program 'A Tale of Two Rivers' (the Ganges and the Hudson). "It pairs the street food of the Ganges River towns of India with wines from the Hudson River Valley," he said.

The cost is $45 per person plus tax and gratuity. One-third of the proceeds will go to Tay-bandz.

The menu includes:

1. Mystical Bengal. Kathi rolls and bengali specialties
2. Holistic Benares. Chatt, kachoris, pakodas and samosas
3. Mughal's Allahabad. Biryanis and kebabs
