Bronx Man Arrested in Irvington with 2 Eight Balls: Police

The arrest occurred after an investigation by the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force.

A Bronx man was arrested Thursday in Irvington and charged with possessing illegal drugs.

Sergeant Harold Young, commanding officer of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force, said Lamar Adams, 28, was taken into custody around 7:40 p.m. after a brief foot pursuit near 2 Main St. in Irvington.

He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

It is alleged Adams had, at the time of his arrest, two 3.5-gram bags of a white, powdery substance believed to be cocaine in his possession.

Police said that weight of bag is commonly known as an “eight ball.”

Adams was arrested after a short-term narcotics investigation conducted by the task force.

He was arraigned and bail was set at $5,000.

Adams was unable to make bail, so he was sent to the Westchester County Jail. His next court appearance will be March 14.
