The Armour-Stiner Octagon House

On this seasonal one-hour tour, visitors will explore The Armour-Stiner Octagon House and its idyllic landscape – both prime examples of the romantic and picturesque ideals of the third quarter of the 19th century.
Tours cost $34 and run at 10:00, 11:30, and 1:00.&nbsp; The tour includes the property’s Lord &amp; Burnham greenhouse and Foxglove Garden, in addition to the veranda and selected rooms on the three primary floors inside. While enjoying lush gardens and whimsical architectural details, learn about the exotic plant species on the property, the evolution of modern landscape architecture, and the restoration of this historic property. 
This tour is rain or shine. During inclement weather, guides will discuss the gardens from the covered veranda.

The Octagon House is a privately owned home and active residence. All visitors to the property must purchase tickets and tour with a guide. Tours are recommended for ages 7+ and include three flights of stairs, and are therefore not suitable for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, or those who struggle to stand for extended periods of time.”

The Nyack Famous Street Fair will be returning on Sunday, May 17 from 10 to 5 in downtown Nyack. This is the ultimate shopping and dining event you do not want to miss. The fair features over three hundred exhibitors, from four states with arts, crafts, new retail, home décor, and unique gifts set up in tents lining Main, Broadway and Cedar Streets. For the foodie’s festival foods of all kinds will be available including food trucks. Music will be located at the Gazebo on Main Street. Be sure to stop by the great restaurants and outdoor cafes with many offering fair specials. Nyack’s unique shops and boutiques are a must see. 
The fair is held rain or shine. No pets please. The Nyack Famous Street Fair has been held for over 50 years and has become a much-anticipated event that is looked forward to year after year. This year, the Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington, New York will commemorate the 250th Anniversary of The United States with a special guided tour: The Octagon House: 1876 Centennial Tour.
Tours cost $34 and run at 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM.
100 years before it became a wealthy New York City suburb, Westchester County was once a lawless “neutral ground” during the height of the American Revolution. In this one-hour guided tour, visitors will hear a brief history of the 18th Century Odell Farm where The Octagon House now stands.
As we enter the Octagon House, guests experience how New Yorkers of The Gilded Age once celebrated the Nation’s Centennial of 1876. On display throughout the house will be a delightful collection of antique Centennial souvenirs &amp; ephemera. This was a time of great entrepreneurial innovation, design and manufacturing. The Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia was a magnificent display or wares by the finest manufacturers of the era.
Visitors will enjoy the ornate interior of The Octagon House, which is decorated with antique lighting, furniture, &amp; objects – many of which appeared at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition.
