Westchester Symphonic Winds Spring Concert

Westchester Symphonic Winds presents the third and final performance of its Tarrytown Music Hall series for the 2025-2026 season on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 8:00 pm. Titled “America: Mosaic of Liberty,” this stirring patriotic program honors the upcoming United States Semiquincentennial by celebrating America’s heritage, diversity, and musical traditions through works that reflect the nation’s spirit and history.

Joining Music Director/Conductor Curt Ebersole and WSW are guest conductor Timothy Holtan, Col., U.S. Army (Ret.), the only officer to command all three of the Army’s premier bands, and vocal soloist MaryKay Messenger, Sgt. Maj., U.S. Army (Ret.), the West Point Band’s featured vocalist for 29 years. Col. Holtan conducts two instrumental works on the program: Lexington Triptych by Dwayne Milburn and The White Rose March, by John Philip Sousa. Sgt. Maj. Messenger presents a rousing medley of beloved Americana favorites concluding with God Bless America, conducted by Col.Holtan.

The evening’s culminating work is a towering and deeply emotional masterpiece for wind ensemble, Symphony No. 4 by acclaimed composer David Maslanka,

This July, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence. On May 9—eight weeks prior to this semiquincentennial—we celebrate the diverse influences that make America a cultural melting pot. Our guest artists, both seasoned Army veterans, will conduct and sing pivotal American works that help us examine the country we love. Our season finale, David Maslanka’s Symphony No. 4, will shake the very ground on which we stand and the emotional roots we treasure. We hope that you will join us for this once-in-a-lifetime event.
