Westchester Symphonic Winds (WSW) opens its 39th season with a milestone performance on Sunday, November 22, 2026 at 3:00 pm at its new home: Diller Hall in The Allen Center for the Creative Arts and Technology at Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York. Titled Connections, this inaugural concert for WSW at Diller Hall celebrates the intricate connections among people, places, and experiences that create vibrant musical tapestries and strengthen community ties.
Our Diller Hall residency begins appropriately with Fanfare for a New Dawn, by Innocent Okechukwu, commissioned by WSW to open this concert. The program features Dr. Daniel Cook (Ithaca College), guest conductor, leading Children's March by Percy Grainger. Our soloist is Mindy Kaufman, piccolo of the New York Philharmonic and White Plains High School alumna, performing Dance of the Southern Lights by Eric Richards, conducted by WSW apprentice conductor and White Plains High School Band Director, Kathryn Davis. Other works include Whatsoever Things by Mark Camphouse, A Mother of a Revolution by Omar Thomas, WSW American Overture arranged by Barton Green, and Nutcracker Crunch by Michael Markowski.
Noting the significance of the concert program as the first for WSW at Diller Hall, Maestro Ebersole shared:
We are extremely excited to move to our new rehearsal/performance home at Hackley School this fall, as we celebrate our 39th Season. We are thrilled to share our first program, with outstanding guest artists who join me to lead this performance, including Dr. Daniel Cook, Ms. Mindy Kaufman, and Ms. Kathryn Davis.
