Paladins score 9 runs, she first had a double and later in the frame stroked a three bagger, which accounted for 3 of the inning’s total. The final score had her team blanking the Flames, 12-0. With Winthrop as the foe on the 22nd, the designated player went  2-2 and  had 1 r.b.i. On the 23rd, with University of South Carolina-Upstate, she had 1 strikeout in the 4-3  ten inning loss, with the record now 4-6.

In the season opening lacrosse game at home with Mt, Union on February 19th, Jack Bernard of Irvington and Wooster College, scored the first goal of the season at 10:02 of the first period, and then scored goal number 10 at 09:11 of the 4th stanza, while teammate John Bogusz  of  Sleepy Hollow had 1 shot in the 10-1 win. Bernard had 5 shots,  with 4 on goal in the game.

In a 58-57 squealer loss to Mass-Lowell on February 22nd, John Bronner of New Hampshire  scored 9 points, had 2 assist, and 1 steals. The record is now 6-21:4-10.

In Iona’s opening baseball game at home with Delaware State on February 22nd, the Gaels topped their guests, 6-5, with Max Bruckner of Sleepy Hollow pitching 2.1 innings of relief, during which time her gave up  2 runs on 1 hit, walked 1, fanned 1, and was the winning pitcher over the Hornets

In the final regular season game on February 22nd, Lisa Bucci of Salve Regina had 2 assists and 1 steal in the 70-55 win over Curry, and will play them in the post-season opening round on the 25th. The record for the season was 13-12:11-7.

At New Hampshire on February 19th, Vermont out scored the Wildcats, 79-44, as Sandro Carissimo of the Catamounts scored 8 points, had 2 assists, and 1 steal, while Jordon Bronner of the opposition had 4 points, 3 boards, and 1 assist on the night. 

Danny Crowe of Dobbs Ferry and a sophomore left fielder for Elon of N.C., in the season opener at home on February 16th with Cincinnati, pinched hit with a double, scored a run, and made 2 putouts in his position, while starting there against the same team on the 17th, had 1 r.b.i., fanned once, and had 6 putouts in left field. With North Carolina State as the guests on the 18th, he batted 1-2 and had 2 putouts in the outfield,  and had 0-1 in batting, 1 r.b.i., 1 walk, 1 strikeout, and had 1 putout in the 12-4 win. On the 22nd with the same team, he fanned once in the 11-1 win.

At the SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIP, held Erie Community College from February 20-22, Katie Flood and her 400 Medley Relay quartet finished 8th in their arc, with a time of 4:11.05, while in the 200 Medley Relay, they were 7th with a clocking of 1:52.91. She finished 5th in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 10:8.66, and was 10th in the 200  Breastroke, with a clocking of 1:08.66.

In an overwhelming 75-33 rout of Hamilton in the NESCAC Quarter Finals on February 22nd, Marley Giddins of Amherst  scored 3 points, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal in the game.

Hosting Harvard on February 22nd, the Columbia wrestling team topped the Cantabs, 33-10, with Penn Gottfried winning his 125 pound match, 9-0.

Fitchburg's Craig Halpin and his hockey team lost to guests Worcester State on February 17th, 3-1, while on the 20th at home with Framingham State, he assisted on the first goal at 19:28 of the first period,. With Salem State on the 22nd, they lost, 2-1, and the regular season’s record ended at 10-13-1:7-9-1.

At the Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships at Brown on February 22nd, Manita Herlitz-Ferguson finished 10th in 3 meter diving, with 261.76, while twin sister Bianca was 22nd, with 223.30 points. Cornell finished 7th, with 662 points.

At Haverfords’ Keogh Invitational track meet on February 22nd, Nora Howe of the host team finished 10th in the women’s 3,000, with a time of 11:30.10.

At home with Oneonta on February 22nd, Jake Hymowitz of Ivington and the Guilford lacrosse team topped the Red Dragons, 12-5, with the team now 2-0 on the season.

On February 22nd, the Lehigh women’s tennis team bowed to guests Stony Brook, 7-0, with Ali Kaminetsky and her partner losing their doubles match, 8-2 and her singles match,8-0.At the season ending Temple Duels fencing matches on February 22nd, Samantha Lee of Duke had a record of 3-9 in foil competition. The women’s team won, 3-1.

In  71-55 win over hosts Rider on February 21st, Brittni Lai of Marist scored 7points, and had 3 rebounds and 3 assists, while on the 23rd at Manhattan, she had 2 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal in the 81-54 win.

In squash play at the Lawrenceville School February 21-23, Sarah Madigan of Swarthmore defeated her Minnesota opponent, 6i-11,6-11,11-8, 18-6, one 11-5, as her team topped the Golden Gophers, 9-0, and then in a 7-2 win over N.Y.U.she lost to a Violet, 14-12,15-11,11-7, and 11-9.

At home with Navy on February 19th, Lexi Martins of Lehigh scored 13 points, a team high, plus 7 rebounds and 2 steals in the 79-59 loss , while with Lafayette on

In a 12-3 win over Anna Maria in the season opening lacrosse game, Liam McHugh of Ardsley and Mt. St. Vincent, hard 1 shot, 1 give back, 1 turnover, and 1 ct.

MURPHY - 21-23 @ PATRIOTIC CHAMP @ BUCKNELL

Toni Pilla of Caldwell, in a game at Concordia on February 18th, scored 12 points and had 1 rebound in the 72-61 win, 

in the season ending loss onFebruary 22nd at Geneseo, Ashley Riefenhauser of New Paltz had 3 points and 1 steal in the 61-58 game, with the Hawks’ season record 6-19:4-4..

In a 63-51win over Gettysburg on February 18th, Jon Salandra of Franklin & Marshall scored 17 points, and had 6 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks, and 2 steals in the game, while in the final game of the season with Dickinson on the 22nd, he scored 21 points and had 8 boards,1assist, 1 steal, and 3 blocks, with the end of season record 17-8:13.5.

In the season opening men’s lacrosse game, the Brown Bears topped guests Quinnipiac, 13-6, with John Yozzo-Scapperota of Dobbs Ferry seeing action in the game. 

At the SUNYAC swimming championship at Erie C.C. on February 21st, Andy Schunk’s 400 Medley Relay foursome won their race, with a clocking of 3:36.12, while Peter Malarczyk’s quartet was 4th, in 3:52.56. Schunk was 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke, at 57.96, and 3rd in the 100 Freestyle, timed at 51.27, while his 400 Freestyle relay foursome were 3rd, in 3:25.45. Malarczyk was 5th in the 100 Butterfly, timed at 57.96. Geneseo won the day with a total of 583 point.

In the season finale at McDaniel on February 22nd, Mark Siden and the Gettysburg Bullelts topped their host, 57-46, with the season ending record at 12-13: 10-8.

On day one of the Patriot League Championship, held at the U.S. Naval Academy on February 19-22, Colgate’s Tavy Smith’s 200 Medley Relay quartet finished 9th in the men’s 200 Medley Relay, with a clocking of 1:33.15.
