Court Date Postponed For Woman Accused Of Faking Cancer For Donations

Police said she received more than $50,000 in donations from her victims.

ARDSLEY, NY — The former Ardsley woman who faked terminal cancer and scammed donors had a court appearance Wednesday postponed. A continuance was granted in the case against Vedoutie Hoobraj, also known as Shivonie Deokaran, and no future date has been set.

Hoobraj is said to have received more than $50,000 in donations from a high school football team and a GoFundMe page, News 12 said.

She was arrested Aug. 11 in Orlando, FL.
