Dobbs Ferry Crowned Section One Champions
Dobbs Ferry Eagles defeat Rye Neck Panthers 3-0 to win Section One Championship.
Senior Eagle Hayley Bingham's fly ball hit towards left field in the fifth inning scored Stevie Lane and Andrea Abbatiello for a 3-o lead over the Rye Neck Panthers in the Section One Final Monday.
The Panther defense closed out the bottom of the third as the Eagles loaded the bases with two outs.
Rye Neck Pitcher Jessica Calvini then made it three outs to close out the inning for the Panthers and prevent a catasprohe until the bottom of the fifth.

Bingham's fly ball hit towards left field brought in Andrea Abbatiello and Stevie Lane for the eventual 3-0 championship victory.
Dobbs Ferry then hit a double and a triple in the sixth, but the Panther defense kept fighting to prevent the Eagles from scoring anymore than they already had.

Rye Neck Head Coach Joan Spedafino credits the Eagles' play: "Dobbs Ferry is a great team," she said.
The Eagles had previously lost to the Panthers in last year's semi-final creating a special day for Dobbs Ferry Head Coach Neil Abbatiello and his staff.
"This is kind of a sweet thing for us," Abbatiello said.
Jacqueline Crews struckout 11 batters and walked two in seven innings pitched for Dobbs Ferry, who next face Section Nine's Highland in their first game of Regional action Tuesday at Heroes Field in Nanuet slated to begin at 3 p.m.
Dobbs Ferry has been guided all season by the senior leadership of Crews, Abbatiello, and Bingham.
"They've been great role models for the Juniors, Sophomore, and Freshman," Coach Abbatiello said.
Calvini struckout six walking four in six innings for the Panthers who end the season at 17-7.
Nonetheless, Spedafino was pleased with the Panther's performance.
"I think we played phenomenal," she said. "We just didn't string it together."
