Dobbs Ferry Man Barred from Polls by Order of Protection
Dobbs Ferry police receive request for advice on a peculiar voting matter.

A Dobbs Ferry man called village police just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday to inquire about switching his polling place, police reported.
"He said his designated polling place was St. Cabrini Nursing Home, but that he could not go there because his wife--who has an order of protection against him--works at Cabrini," Sergeant Rick Guevara said.
Guevara, who responded to the call, immediately sought the advice of election inspectors stationed in Village Hall, but no one had ever heard of such a matter.

"We told the policeman there are judges who work for the Board of Elections who usually handle cases like these," Rhona Neuwirth, a Dobbs Ferry election inspector, said.
But because the call was placed after business hours, Guevara was unable to reach anyone at the county Board of Elections.

"The man never called back, so we probably won't ever know how it was resolved," Guevara said.
