September 28
Music Store Burglarized Again
12:08 a.m. Five suspects were arrested for burglary in the third degree, a D felony, for peeling back the temporary window treatment at American Ax, a music store on Cedar Street.

The store was first burglarized on September 17, when the window was broken with a brick. This time, the alarm sounded and the perpetrators fled before stealing anything from the store. Officers from Irvington and Ardsley assisted in setting up a perimeter. The MTA Police sent over Bart, a tracking dog, and his handler, Officer McKay. Bart picked up a scent from Broadway to Rochambeau Avenue, and found the suspects all hiding at Sacred Heart Church on 417 Broadway. The suspects, ages 16 and 17, all from Children's Village, were remanded to Westchester County Jail in Valhalla pending a future court appearance.

11:35 p.m. A 22-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident jumped his vehicle over a curb and drove donuts around the gazebo at River Front Park, ripping up the lawn and creating over $250 in damage. He was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, an E felony. He was issued an appearance ticket and returned to court on October 7.

Leash Law Appearance Ticket for Loose Dog
11:05 a.m. A 29-year-old woman from Livingston Manor reported seeing a dog without a leash roaming about. The dog belonged to her 41-year-old neighbor, who was issued an appearance ticket for breaking the Village Ordinance Leash Law.
October 3
Identity Theft
3:15 p.m. A Dobbs Ferry resident reported that between May 27 and September 30, persons unknown had tried to open several credit cards using his personal information. The thief was unsuccessful; police are investigating.
German Shepherd Hit in Front of Dobbs Ferry Pizza Parlor; Driver Takes Off
9:20 p.m. A German Shepherd was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on 217 Ashford Avenue. Witnesses at San Gennero's, 225 Ashford Avenue, saw a female driver strike a German Shepherd and flee the scene, heading westbound on Ashford Avenue in what looked like a dark-colored Honda Accord. The speed limit is 30 mph there, and known for moderate pedestrian and pet traffic. The suspect, if apprehended, would be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and leaving the scene of an injury to an animal without reporting it.
Searching for his dog, the owner flagged down a Dobbs Ferry Police vehicle on patrolng the area; officers had to break the news to the dog owner. Officers say the suspect's vehicle would be significantly damaged in front.
