Dobbs Ferry's Wortner Finishes Fifth in State

 Dobbs Ferry junior Brendan Wortner staked his claim as one of the top runners in New York State/Class C, finishing fifth overall at Lakeside Park in Pawling Saturday. Wortner clocked an incredible 16:30 in the rugged and hilly 5K course. Wortner averaged 5:20 per mile. His teammate, senior standout George Epstein, finished 21st overall with a time of 17:15.

Dobbs' Sarah King finished eighth overall in the Class C girls race, registering a 5K time of 19:34.

Irvington senior Annie Field, who earned a  program record fifth straight berth in the state championship meet, placed 26th overall in Class B, turning in a time of 20:28.
