Dows Lane Mural Leads to Students to Ponder Community, Character Building

The artwork is due to the efforts of two kindergarten teachers.

IRVINGTON, NY — A new mural in the Dows Lane Elementary School atrium will be used as part of the school's Character Building program.

The artwork is due to the initiative and artistic creativity of kindergarten teachers Izabela Swiecka and Melaynne Vestal, according to information from a district spokesman.

Through the program, students will be thinking about the question, “What makes a community?”
