DreamWorks' 'The Girl on the Train' to Film in Ardsley, Irvington

The upcoming movie version of the popular suspense novel, “The Girl on the Train,” is scheduled to film in Ardsley this month, according to village officials.

The Hollywood production, which stars Emily Blunt, Jared Leto, Rebecca Ferguson and Justin Theroux, will film during the early morning hours at the Ardsley train station on Nov. 8 and 14.

“They will be doing work in preparation for the filming during the day on November 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th and 12th,” wrote village officials in a statement. “Please avoid the area if at all possible.”

“The Girl on the Train” is just one of several Hollywood productions to be filmed in the Rivertowns area in recent months, including Showtime’s “The Affair,” which filmed scenes in Dobbs Ferry, and the Glenn Close/John Malkovich/Sir Patrick Stewart/Minnie Driver comedy “Wilde Wedding” in Irvington, according to The Hudson Independent.

Village officials said additional motion picture and television productions may be filmed over the next several months. Additionally, “The Girl on the Train” will not affect commuter parking the area.

“During the actual filming days of November 8th and 14th, there will be intermittent traffic stops and police officers on hand. This will not affect the commuter parking on any regular work day (Monday-Friday),” they said.
