Batala NYC, a group of 36 women drummers play samba reggae from Northern Brazil. The groupnis know for their powerful, infectious sound and compelling dance moves. On September 22, Batala will bring the Carnival of Bahia to Rivertown's Residents in front of the Hastings Station Cafe.
One of the youngest members of Batala is an 8th grade student at Farragut Middle School
