FEDERATED CONSERVATIONISTS OF WESTCHESTER COUNTY HAS BEEN SELECTED BY LOCAL WHOLE FOODS MARKETS AS RECIPIENT OF 5% DAY, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 2014

WHO: The Federated Conservationists of Westchester County (FCWC), founded in 1965, its mission is to: provide leadership that educates people about environmental issues, problems and solutions; advocate sound decision-making; and work with groups and individual to protect, preserve and rehabilitate Westchester's natural resources.

Each year FCWC identifies environmental goals and outcomes to target and develops strategies for accomplishing their goals through workshops and other events that educate residents of Westchester County about these environmental issues.

WHAT: FCWC has been selected by Whole Foods Market in both White Plains and Yonkers, as the beneficiary of its 5% Day. Several times a year, Whole Foods of Westchester donates 5% of the day’s net sales to a selected local charity, and on Wednesday, April 9, FCWC will be the featured non-profit organization. FCWC will staff information tables inside both locations on April 9th, and will provide information about the ways residents can help protect Westchester County's Environment. FCWC will allocate funds received from the 5% Day to help in planning and execution of a Climate Change Summit coming up this fall.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. FCWC will staff information tables in both stores that day.
