Firefighters Battle Building Fire in Dobbs Ferry
The fire started at about 7 p.m. in the unoccupied building on Ashford Avenue.

A fire in a building on Ashford Avenue in Dobbs Ferry Tuesday night temporarily shut down a portion of the Saw Mill Parkway and required more than 100 firefighters to douse.
The Journal News reports that the fire started at about 7 p.m. in the unoccupied building, and fire personnel had some difficulty battling it. No injuries were reported.
“It was very difficult to fight because this building has been renovated so many times,” Dobbs Ferry Fire Chief Neil Sweeting told The Journal News about the structure at 413 Ashford. “We forced some doors and there were walls behind doors. There were lots of complications.”
