Greenburgh Anesthesiologist Named in Malpractice Lawsuit over Joan Rivers' Death
Rivers, who grew up in Larchmont, passed away in September.
Dr. Renuka Reddy Bankulla, an anesthesiologist who lives in Greenburgh, has been named in a malpractice lawsuit involving the death of comedy legend Joan Rivers.
Bankulla and other doctors are alleged to have failed to respond when Rivers stopped breathing during a procedure last summer. Bruce Brady, who is representing Bankulla, told The Journal News that claims of malpractice are “unfounded.”

Rivers never regained consciousness and passed away a week later. The lawsuit was filed by Rivers’ daughter, Melissa.
