Hastings Man Faces Drug Charges: Police

Police said he had nearly 2 pounds of marijuana and more than $1,300 in cash.

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — A Hastings man faces drug charges after being allegedly caught with almost 2 pounds of pot.

Members of the Greenburgh Drug & Alcohol Task Force arrested Christopher Varley, 34, of Ridge Street in Hastings March 30 and charged him with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Police said at the time of his arrest Varley allegedly had nearly 2 pounds of marijuana, $1,367 in cash and numerous vials containing concentrated cannabis oil, which is a controlled substance.

He was arraigned in Hastings court and sent to the Westchester County Jail after failing to post $1,000 bail.

Varley is next scheduled to appearance in court April 5.
