Hyundai Dealership Proposed for Central Avenue in Greenburgh

The town changed the zoning to allow for car showrooms.

A car dealership may be headed to Central Avenue in the Town of Greenburgh.

Supervisor Paul Feiner said the town board last year changed the zoning on Central Avenue to allow for car dealerships.

He said an applicant has recently submitted a special permit—for car sales use—to reuse the former Barnes & Noble building and site, now known as Harrows, to become a Hyundai automobile dealership showroom and sales lot.

Feiner said the proposal requires a special permit from the planning board along with site plan approval from the planning board.

While minor modifications to the existing parking lot are proposed, there are also plans to improve the sidewalk in front of the site.

The planning board review process will likely begin in February or March, Feiner said.
