Irvington Adopts Community Choice Aggregation Program Legislation

The new policy is related to energy consumption.

The Village of Irvington Monday adopted new legislation to create a Community Choice Aggregation Program, which will allow the village to “procure energy supply service for [its] residential and small commercial customers.”

Village officials will work with Sustainable Westchester on the program in the coming weeks and months, but residents and businesses can opt out if they so choose.

Such programs can often mean savings for home and business owners because a municipality can procure energy at attractive rates, which allows customers to lower their energy costs.
