Irvington Fire Chief Resigns After 4 Months

There were accusations of stolen funds, officials said.

IRVINGTON, NY — After less than four months on the job, Irvington Fire Chief Joseph Trama has resigned under the cloud of accusations of stolen money. The fire company’s board said Trama had transferred or withdrawn money multiple times in July.

Fire Company President James Brennen said Trama had taken less than $1,000 and has repaid it, the Journal News said.

The unauthorized transactions violated company policies.
