“She has incredible dedication,” basketball coach Gina Maher said. “Whether at practice or a game, she gives total effort and has skills that make her invaluable to our team. As a point guard and team captain, she is the coach on the floor. Lindsay takes this role seriously and her presence on the floor makes her teammates better. She is the player who makes the team run in a cohesive and disciplined manner.”
Halpin has led her team to a 19-1 record, averaging 15 points, 4.8 assists, 3.2 steals and 5 rebounds per game. In addition to her dedication on the court, she is taking a demanding course load consisting of Regents and honors levels classes. After school, she’s a peer leader, assistant Catholic Youth Organization coach and a member of the Free the Children Club and Rally Girls.

Principal David Cohen said he was impressed by Halpin's easygoing nature on and off the court.
“I have never seen this young woman stressed or without a smile on her face. She certainly is someone who takes everything in stride as she has met and excelled in every academic and athletic challenge that has come her way,” he said.
Halpin will attend SUNY Geneseo in the fall, where she has committed to play basketball for the Knights.
