Irvington Students Honored for Collaboration Skills
District administrators give out the monthly award for different character traits.

Irvington High School students were recognized by the school district in February for demonstrating collaboration in an exceptional way.
The 16 students give a Core Value Award were Amy Castaneda, Maya Castiblanco, Jared Egloff, Robert Goldberg, Edward Hansen, Ayushi Jha, Braden Kauff, Nicholas Lambiase, Matt Myers, Ajay Ramnarine, Graziana Ricciardella, Sarina Stein, Carli Stern, Jason Weg, Robin Weiss and Sarah Yarczuk.
One student said collaboration was important because it opens up people’s perspectives and broadens their horizon.

This is the first school year the district has given out Core Value Awards to students for the character traits that shape the school community.
The other awarded categories and the number of students are;

- September: 15 students for humor and joy.
- October: 18 students for understanding and sharing feelings.
- November: 11 students for displaying global thinking and care for their community.
- December: 11 students for demonstrating perseverance.
- January: 16 students for creativity and imagination.
Categories for the remainder of the school year are leadership, responsible risk taking and subject excellence.
