State Qualifier

Boys

Irvington's Victor Yan was first in the pole vault with a mark of 12-6 at the first day of the Section 1 Division 2 state track and field qualifier at Arlington High School on May 31 according to LoHud.com.

Yan's mark qualifies him for the state championships. 

Teammates, Mark Schelp was third in the discus, and Thomas Lindberg was second in the 800.

Girls

Irvington also enjoyed plenty of success on the girls side according to LoHud.com.

Marley Giddins qualified for the states with first-place finishes in both the long jump (17-5¼) and high jump (5-3).

Teammate Helene Hall placed second in the high jump, qualifiying her for the states as well.

State Championships

The state championships that Yan, Giddins and Hall earned the right to compete in will take place this Friday and Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School according to the NYSPHSAA.
