The Friends of the Irvington Library announce lecture with award-winning author and gardener Marta McDowell to discusses her book, Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life: The Plants and Places that Inspired the Classic Children’s Tales.

McDowell teaches landscape history and horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden, authored Emily Dickinson’s Gardens and is finishing a new book on the history of American gardening as seen through the White House grounds due out April 2016.
