A soon to graduate civil engineering major at Tufts University of Medford, MA., the shortstop and tri-captain of the Jumbo softball team and her squad journeyed to the Moyer Center in Salem, Va. on May 18th, to compete with seven other teams in the eight team event, with hopes of gaining the national crown.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Mira said this: "This season has been a dream come true. We knew when we started that we had the potential to be one of the best teams in the nation, and now all of our hard work has paid off, and we are one of eight teams competing for a National Championship! It is an incredible feeling knowing that we have a great chance to win. Our team has practiced and played hard every day to make it to this point, and we  wouldn't be where we are now without every single member on this team."

"I am honored to call them my teammates and grateful that I will have them as lifelong friends. Playing at the National Championship Series is the ultimate culmination to four years as a member of Tufts Softball. I was a freshman on the 2009 team that made it to this point (ultimately finishing at 4th in the Nation) To be back and playing at this stage as a senior is an amazing accomplishment and we will definitely put everything we have into winning it all. We are ready for whatever the competition has to offer and will hopefully end this weekend as the National Champions! "

In the final game that cleared the Pachyderms for this next step, a 5-0 blanking of Eastern Connecticut, the shortstop doubled to score Tufts' first run, and scored herself later in the game, as well. E.C.U. had entered the game with a record of 43-4 in previous action.

The Jumbos had a seasonal record of 40-5, while Lieman-Sifry started 44 of the team's 45 games, had a batting average of .241, including 4 doubles, scored 19 runs, had 26 hits, 9 r.b.i.'s, walked 3 times and struck out 7 times. At shortstop, she had 50 putouts, 63 assists, and  committed 3 errors.

In the opening round on the 18th, Tufts played against the host team, the Roanoke College Maroons, in a game that was a true pitchers dual, with Fournier of the Jumbos (28-8 ) and Higbe of Roanoke (21-2), both right handers, opposing each other.

The game couldn't have been closer, with a total of 4 hits and 1 run in the ensuing action. Unfortunately for Lieman-Sifry and her squad, it was Roanoke who scored that single tally, when, with two outs and a runner on second base in the top of the final inning, the 7th, the next batter doubled over the left fielder's head, and that was it. Mira went 0-2 at bat, and made 1 assist on a ground out in the game.

On the 19th, with Plattsburgh, loser on the previous day to Montclair State, 1-0. A win in this one, gets the team back into contention for the title. Next, in a 7-1 win over Plattsburgh on the 20th, she had 1 hit, scored a run, and made 3 putouts.

On the 21st, facing the Linfield Wildcats of McMinville, Oregon, Tufts fell victim to 3 home runs, as they were eliminated from the tournament in the 4-1 loss, with Lieman-Sifry having 1 hit and fanning once in this, her last game as a college softball player.
