Standing Ovation Studios, based in Armonk, and Riverworks Recording Studio, of Dobbs Ferry, are collaborating to provide a unique new opportunity in Westchester County - Standing Ovation Music Technology Institute at Riverworks. Opening with an introductory five-week summer program on July 7th, Standing Ovation MTI provides specialized training in the making and recording of music.
“Through our performing arts training programs and our theatrical show productions, we realized there was nothing like this locally and found a way to make it happen,” explains Standing Ovation Studios director, John Fanelli.
Standing Ovation MTI is geared primarily towards artists, musicians, DJs, performers, songwriters, music producers and anyone considering a career in music, sound or production as well as the amateur musician seeking to make a professional sounding record.
Participants will attain authentic hands-on experience working in the professionally-renowned Riverworks Recording Studio at 39 Cedar Street in Dobbs Ferry. Riverworks was designed by industry leader John Storyk , designer of the famous Electric Lady Studios in NYC used by countless well-known artists from Hendrix to Coldplay to Kanye West. A 600 square-foot fully-outfitted performing studio adjoins the control room.
The introductory course runs July 7th through August 8th and is being taught by Matt Noble, producer, songwriter and engineer with Rihanna, Rod Stewart and Michael Jackson among his credits. Students will work with both electronic and live content in both digital and analog technology. Upon completion, they will know how to create, engineer, mix and produce professional sound for the music industry, video and film, television, video games and more.
