Mercy College In Talks To Take CNR Students
The College of New Rochelle may close after the summer semester, so this would give CNR students a way to continue their education.

DOBBS FERRY, NY — Students at College of New Rochelle may have another option if the institution closes after the summer semester. Mercy College and CNR are working on a deal that would give CNR students a way to continue their education.
The agreement would involve directly transferring students from CNR to Mercy, the Journal News said.
Mercy President Tim Hall said the college is seeking approvals from regulatory agencies to keep offering programs CNR students will need to graduate.

A letter sent to the College of New Rochelle community Feb. 22 said that the college will likely not be able to stay open after the summer 2019 semester.

The college found itself in a difficult financial situation in October 2016 and was, at times, days away from shutting its doors.
Then-President Judith Huntington resigned, and "unmet financial obligations" were uncovered and presented to the trustees.
About $20 million in payroll taxes had not been paid for eight quarters, beginning in 2014.
