Mercy College softball swept St. Thomas Aquinas College in East Coast Conference action this afternoon (April 1) 2-1 and 12-2. Game 2 saw four homers by the Mavericks, including three-run dingers by Jackie Couillard (Wolcott, Conn.) and Kelly Bentson (Brewster, N.Y.), and a grand slam by Jenna Ausiello (Petaluma, Calif.).

Baseball Splits

The Mercy College baseball team split a doubleheader with C.W. Post today (April 1), winning the first game, 2-0, but falling in the second, 5-4. Freshman Bryan Greig turned in yet another spectacular pitching performance in the first game, throwing a complete-game shutout in which he struck out eight batters.

Darnulc Honored

Mercy College women's lacrosse junior Julie Darnulc was named to the ECC Honor Roll this week. She scored six goals and assisted on three others, including a hat trick and pair of assists in the team's victory over Chestnut Hill this weekend.

Mercy College baseball freshman Bryan Greig was named East Coast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week and junior Andrew Bock was named to the Honor Roll for Week Six.
