“Matthew is a dynamic educator whose leadership will quickly prove to be an asset to Irvington High School,” said Dr. Harrison. “His outgoing personality and experience as an English teacher will complement our high school team exceptionally well as they partner to provide a rigorous education for our students.”

During Salcito’s time in Bedford Hills, she was “second-in-command” to the building’s principal and served as acting principal at times. She also collaborated daily with the principal regarding day-to-day operations.

In addition, she ensured district initiatives were being followed through at the building level by collaborating with fellow elementary consulting teachers and maintaining strategic partnerships with school district leaders to guarantee a consistent learning environment. Prior to this role, Salcito served in New York City as a literacy coach for seven years and an elementary school teacher for four years.

“Jackie's warm demeanor and deep instructional background will be a great match for our Dows Lane community,” said Dr. Harrison. “Her professional experiences have equipped her to be a strong partner for [Dows Lane Principal Deborah] Mariniello, our faculty and staff.”
