Irvington's Gus Passov allowed one earned run in 6.1 innings of work with three strikeouts to earn a win in a 6-3 victory at Sleepy Hollow on May 7, giving Sleepy its first loss of the year after 11 wins according to Kevin Devaney Jr.'s story on MSG Varsity.

Softball
Ending her memorable four years of play for the Tufts Jumbos, former pitcher during her high school years, and since then the shortstop and co-captain in collegiate softball, Mira Lieman-Sifry (Hastings ’08) was part of a team that had a season record of 36-5:10-6, plus winning the New England Small College Conference Championship with a 2-1 victory over Middlebury at Amherst on the 6th.
In the team picture, taken after this game, she sits front and center proudly holding the championship plaque, emblematic of the pachyderms' fine achievement.
During the season, Lieman-Sifry played almost entirely at shortstop, where , as an integral part of a tight infield (only a total of 20 errors made by the entire infield), she only had 3 miscues. She made 50 putouts and had 60 assists during the campaign. At the plate, she had a .237 average, started all but one of the 40 games, had 97 at bats, scored 17 runs, had 23 hits, including 3 doubles, 6 r.b.i.s, walked 14 tmes, fanned 6 times, and stole 7 bases in 8 attempts.
