Police Hunting For Man Who Tried To Lure Girls Into Car

Police say there were several attempts and the unidentified man tried to convince girls that he needed help finding the high school.

ARDSLEY, NY — Police are looking for a suspect who made several attempts to lure school-age girls into his car.

Police said that Wednesday, at approximately 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., an unknown man made multiple attempts to convince high school aged girls to get into his car. The man is described as white, possibly in his 40s, with dark hair and a receding hairline. He was seen driving an older model red/maroon four-door sedan.

The man police are looking for reportedly offered the girls a ride to the school. He told them he was from the Sleepy Hollow area, but also said that he needed help to find the high school. The attempts happened in the Hartsdale section of the Ardsley School District.

Ardsley police are asking the community to keep a lookout for a car and man that match the description. Neighbors are also being asked to immediately report any similar suspicious behavior.
