Police Warn Hastings Of Black Bear In Area
The state Department of Environmental said the bear is likely looking for food sources.

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — A black bear is roaming around the vicinity of Hillside Woods in the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson and police are urging residents to stay away. Police are telling residents to avoid Hillside Park or the Hillside School area.
The police department said it's been in touch with the state Department of Environmental Conservation which said the animal is searching for sources of food, including bird feeders and garbage containers, the Journal News said.
The DEC said there is nothing it could do because the bear is not causing problems or being aggressive.
