The highly-anticipated list of restaurants participating in Spring Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW), March 9 to 22, is now live online. A record number of restaurants, 205 and growing, have already registered for the two-week culinary event that offers diners the chance to experience the best restaurants of the region at a fraction of the normal price point.
“We are thrilled that the Hudson Valley’s ultimate culinary event continues to expand and that the farm-to-table movement of the region continues to gain support,” says Janet Crawshaw, publisher of The Valley Table magazine, presenting sponsor of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. “We are excited to welcome 27 new, exquisite restaurants to the growing list of participants, including: the newly opened Hudson Room, showcasing a globally inspired, locally farmed menu located in Peekskill; Daryl’s House in Pawling, mixing famous music and eclectic food and Pangea, The Culinary Institute’s brand-new pop-up restaurant only open until June.” Crawshaw adds, “I think the growing popularity and participation in HVRW underscores the importance of the Hudson Valley as a culinary leader, both regionally and nationally. The level and scope of the culinary offerings awaiting diners during HVRW are just delectable!”

The award-winning Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz and the historic Bear Cafe in Woodstock are among the new Ulster County participants. Some of the expanded offerings in Rockland County include Sparkill Steakhouse in Sparkill, Prohibition River in Nyack and Giostra in Tappan.
HVRW features prix fixe, three-course dinners for $29.95 and lunches for $20.95. Participating restaurants span throughout 114 miles across seven New York State counties, (Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Ulster and Columbia), making HVRW among the largest restaurant week events in the U.S. Many of the participating chefs focus on sourcing seasonal and sustainable products—often sourcing from surrounding farms—and represent a wide variety of cuisines, including Argentinean, French, German, Greek, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Mediterranean, Mexican, New American, Thai and Swiss.
In 2014, HVRW generated an estimated $10.2 million in sales revenue and an estimated $844,387 in tax revenue, representing a 37% average increase in business during the event, according to a survey of participating restaurants.

About Hudson Valley Restaurant Week:
In 1996, Janet Crawshaw and Jerry Novesky took an eight-month sabbatical, traveling 35,000 miles across the country seeking authentic American experiences. They found that local farms, bakeries, fish markets, wineries and breweries were the key to understanding the country’s distinct regions. Inspired by their trip and the Chefs Collaborative, an educational sustainable food movement, the couple returned to their home in the Hudson Valley with a mission to awaken the region’s food consciousness. In 1998, they launched The Valley Table, a colorful quarterly magazine that celebrates the agricultural heritage and cuisine of the region, leading the development of the Hudson Valley’s local food movement. Crawshaw and Novesky launched Hudson Valley Restaurant Week in 2006 with a distinguished board of advisors, including chefs, restaurateurs and tourism leaders. The two-week culinary event premiered with 70 restaurants. Today, with nearly 200 participating restaurants spanning seven counties it is among the largest Restaurant Week events in the country, involving farmers, growers, wine makers and chefs. Participating counties include Dutchess, Westchester, Columbia, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Ulster.
