Rivertowns Biz Snippets: Signed Caldecott Medal-Winning Books at Galapagos
Today's feature is author-signed Caldecott Medal Winners at Galapagos Books in Hastings. Have an idea for a Rivertowns Biz Snippet? Post it as an announcement!
Amanda Abad, owner of in Hastings, is particularly proud of her selection of Caldecott Medal-Winning children's books—especially those signed by local authors.
Every December Abad holds an event in which the authors—like Croton's Jerry Pinkney, Hastings' Ed Young and Peter Sis—come to the small book store and sign their works. Then, for the rest of the year, she has signed books, which make great birthday and holiday gifts.
Caldecott Winners are books recognized for their stellar illustrations, and Abad thinks it's amazing to live in an area in which there are so many well-known authors and illustrators.
