- SPOTLIGHT ON: CHRIS GALLETTA: Chris Galletta of Ardsley, senior heavyweight wrestler for the Muhlenburg College Mules, at the Centennial Conference Championship, held at Johns Hopkins University on Feb. 23, pinned his Washington and Lee University opponent in 5:32 minutes, as his team finished ninth in the tourney with 13.5 points. At the N.C.A.A. Eastern Regional Championship at Gettysburg on Mar. 2 Galletta pinned his first opponent in 3:15, and then lost to his next two foes, 7-2 and 7-3, with the team finishing in 15th place with 5.5 points. On the season, Galletta had a record of 17-8, with ten pins, and with the quickest coming in .37 seconds. His career record was 20-19, with 12 pins.
- Freshman lacrosse defender Liam McHughof Ardsley and The College of Mount St.Vincent, started for the Dolphins in the season opening lacrosse game with Wells College on Feb.23, and had one turnover in the 21-2 blowout of the Chargers. On Mar. 2nd at home with Cobleskill, they topped their guests, 8-4.
- At the Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Ursinus College on Feb. 22 and 23, Nora Howe of Hastings-on-Hudson and Haverford College, finished twentieth in the women's one mile run, with a clocking of 5:53.00. Her team finished in a 92-92 tie for second place with Muhlenberg College in the meet.
- At the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship, held at Bucknell University from Feb. 21-23, The Colgate University Men's team finished sixth of the eight colleges at the meet. Tavy Smith of Dobbs Ferry and his 400 Medley Relay quartet finished sixth in their race, with a clocking of 3:36.28.
- The Ithaca College men's tennis team began it's Spring schedule with a match at The University of Rochester on Feb. 23, with David Anderson of Hastings-on-Hudson losing his singles match, 6-1,6-3, after which his doubles twosome also bowed, 8-2. In a home 6-3 loss to St. Lawrence on Mar. 2, he lost his singles match, 6-2,6-3, while his doubles duo dropped their match, 8-3 .The Bombers record is now 1-4.
- In the opening round of the E.C.A.C. championship, the Salve Regina College women's basketball team traveled to Wellesley College on Feb. 27, and lost to their hosts, 54-42, with Lisa Bucci of Irvington drilling one layup, having one steal and three turnovers in the final game of the year.
- Opening the spring season at Hobart College on Mar. 2, the Oneonta College's Red Dragon men's tennis team lost, 8-1, as Mike Kennelly of Irvington recorded the squad's only win as he took his singles match, 6-4, 6-1, while he and his doubles partner lost 8-1.
- The Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team, with JustinFiguero of Ardsley as a midfielder, opened the season March 2 at Vassar College, with the host Brewers winning the game, 12-7 and the former Panther having six shots in the loss.
- Patrick Wortner of Dobbs Ferry and Geneseo College, running in the ECAC championship at the New York Armory on March 2, finished 23rd in the men's 5,000 race, with a time of 15:17.51, while his team was 18th in the meet with 17 points.
- Andy Catania of Dobbs Ferry and St. Olaf College, in a tennis match at home on March 1 with Hamline University, they won, 8-1, as he lost a hard fought singles match, 7-6,6-2,7-10, and then his doubles duo triumphed 8-2.
- Marley Giddins of Irvington and Amherst College, in the NCAA first round basketball game at home with 12-12 Farmingdale College on March 1, out scored their guests, 67-39, as the former Bulldog had 19 minutes of playtime, wherein she scored 5 points on two layups and one for two in foul shooting, plus three rebounds, two turnovers, and one block in the win. Facing the College of New England at home on Mar. 2nd, the Lady Jeffs humbled their foes, 71-34, and now head for the next round on March 8.
- In a double header at Sweet Briar College on Feb. 28th, right fielder Yolanda Jones of Hastings-on-Hudson and Virginia Union University of Lynchburg and her softball team topped the Vixens 9-0, for their initial win of the season. Jones went 0-2 at the plate, and fanned once. In the nightcap, a 6-2 win, saw her single once in three at bats, and struck out once in the game. The record is now 2-2.
- Undefeated Southern New Hampshire University (5-0), with versatile Andrew Pezzuto of Hastings-on-Hudson leading the Penmen in hitting with a .674 average, and his brother, first baseman Gregory batting .250, switched it's playing locale to Lantana Fl. on March 3, and played the University of the Sciences in the opener. Behind their pitcher's no hit, fifteen strikeout hurling, coupled with Andrew's first inning triple and subsequent run, they blanked the Devils, 2-0.
- The Ivy League Fencing Championship was held at Harvard University on March 2-3, with Peter Cohen of Irvington and Hackley competing on epee for Yale University, and finishing 12th in the meet. His team was 1-4 on the season. Bo Charles of Ardsley and Columbia, also took part. On the season, he won 13 and lost 12 bouts.
- The Fighting Scots of Wooster College's men's lacrosse team opened their season on Feb. 26 at Thiel College, as Jake Bernard of Irvington started at midfield, scored two unassisted goals, had five shots, with four on goal, plus on ground ball and two turnovers in the 19-6 victory. On March 3, at Albion College, they topped their hosts, 12-5, with Bernard coming off the bench and having four shots and two turnovers in the game.
